DUBAI: Global Village, the UAE’s top destination for multicultural family fun, has launched its Season 29 with a grand, unforgettable spectacle.
This season promises even more excitement, cultural diversity, and entertainment than ever before.
As the sun set yesterday, the Gate of the World gleamed under spectacular beams of light, accompanied by showers of golden confetti that marked the grand opening of the season. Thousands of excited guests witnessed the vibrant celebration, which was a true showcase of global unity.
Global Village 2024: Opening celebration
The opening night set the tone for a remarkable season ahead. Leading the parade was AAINJAA, a dynamic Colombian percussion group that mesmerised the audience with their energetic beats. Their rhythmic procession echoed throughout the grounds, as they drummed their way into “A More Wonderful World”—this year’s thematic concept.
Adding to the cultural richness of the evening were stunning Emirati performances, including the Laiwa and Harbiya, traditional dances that welcomed visitors at the Cultural Gate and the Gate of the World. These authentic displays of UAE heritage left guests in awe.
The magic didn’t end there. As night descended, the sky was set ablaze by a laser and fire show at Dragon Lake, leaving the audience in a trance.
What to expect at Global Village this season?
Global Village invites guests to experience the fusion of culture, entertainment, and cuisine. With 30 pavilions, including three new additions (Iraq, Jordan, and the combined Sri Lanka & Bangladesh pavilion), visitors will be spoiled for choice. From hand-made crafts to global delicacies, each pavilion promises a distinct flavor of its culture.
Food enthusiasts can indulge in over 250 dining options, offering flavors from across the globe. From street food to gourmet dishes, there's something for everyone.
The excitement doesn't stop there. With 200+ rides and games, including the famed Carnaval, and 40,000+ live performances scheduled throughout the season, Global Village ensures endless entertainment. These can be attended at the Main Stage, Kids’ Theatre and the streets roaming around the destination.
When to Visit Global Village?
Season 29 is open daily from 4:00PM. Tickets can be purchased online or at the gate. Peak hours tend to be during the weekends, so weekday visits may provide a more leisurely experience.
